Delicious Library 2 is a Great Gift to Anyone.
Giving gifts is stressful — you want to give something that says, "I was thinking of what you like when I got you this," but most people have already bought what they like, so you're left trying to guess what ELSE they might like. Tricky!
But what if you could give something that lets them get MORE enjoyment out of the things they already own? Everyone has SOMETHING they've collected: books, DVDs, music, tools, toys, video games, board games, trade paperbacks, clothes, shoes, jewelry, cameras, gadgets... something! And Delicious Library 2 has shelves for ALL those things.
Delicious Library 2 is a Very Green Gift.Giving gifts in the crazy times is extra-hard; the world's economy is suddenly in a depression of sorts, and now when we buy gifts, we find ourselves naturally thinking, "Should I be spending money on this? Does my friend really need this extra crap in his/her life?"
Further, there's this whole global climate crisis, which really boils down to each of us using too much energy and raw resources. Which leads us again, when buying more THINGS, to ask, "Should I really be buying more crap?"
LUCKILY, I happen to have a solution for you. (No, it's not "Go for a walk, it's free," although I think those are pretty nice, too.) It's Delicious Library 2!
Man, you did NOT see that coming, did you? But, I beg you, hear me out: our product has no packaging; you're just sending data — no box, no plastic CD, no printing, no shipping in a truck, no warehouse space was used. And you're not cluttering up your friend's life with more STUFF, and you're not using up the earth's finite resources.
And, in fact, you're doing the opposite. You're helping. Delicious Library 2 lets your friends organize the stuff they already have; so they don't forget and buy duplicates, so they make better decisions about what they want and need, so they're more generous loaning things out (perk: this could include you!), and so they sell items they forgot they have and don't want. That's reduce, re-use, AND recycle, all in one product.
Delicious Library 2 is a truly "green" gift, but it's still a ton of fun to play with. And, unlike physical gifts, if your friend doesn't like it, she doesn't have to pull it out and set it on the counter every time you come over for the next three years.
If you want to give a gift, for any reason, in any season, consider Delicious Library 2 (it's sure pleasin').
Give the Gift of Delicious Library 2 — It's as easy as 1-2-3 (...4-5-6)!
First make sure your friend can run Delicious Library. Is she:
• A Mac user?
• Running OS X Leopard (10.5) on her Mac?
You need to run Delicious Library to buy a license for it, so hopefully you have access to a Mac (running Leopard), as well. If not, you can purchase via e-mail.
Launch Delicious Library 2 (it should look like the icon you see on the right). If you don't have a copy on your computer, click here to download it for free.
Make sure you're in Delicious Library 2 (not 1) — if you're in Delicious Library 1, you'll end up buying a license for the older version instead! (Ok, this may seem obvious, but, seriously, we get mail every day where people have done this.)
Make sure Delicious Library 2 is the active application, and under "Library" in the menu bar select the item "Delicious Licensor." Then click the "Buy New License" ("Buy License" if you're running a demo copy) button on the sheet that appears.
Select "Regular Price" and click the "Next Step" button at the bottom of the sheet.
Next you can add on an optional wireless Bluetooth scanner — Delicious Library 2 is fully functional without it, but it's a cool toy and makes scanning large (or remote) collections really fast. But, yah, it costs like 5x what Delicious Library 2 costs, so you'd have to REALLY like this person to get her this. (If you decide to purchase it, note that the scanner will be sent to your billing address, not to her house.)
The next part is the only slightly tricky part, because you have to enter information for both yourself and the recipient (and in the right spots!). Refer to the image below to see whose information goes where:
Sweet! You're done... now just sit back and wait for the kisses / hugs to roll in!
